Louisiana Film

Louisiana has positioned itself as one of the most popular filming locations in the entertainment industry. In 2001, Louisiana created the most progressive incentive package for motion picture production in the country, and the results have been outstanding. Louisiana now ranks third in film and television production, behind only California and New York, and has amassed more than $1.5 billion in production revenue since 2002. In 2007, more than 50 film and TV projects were undertaken in Louisiana. Much of the state’s phenomenal success can be attributed to Louisiana native Christopher Stelly, the Director of Film & Television for the Office of Entertainment Industry Development. Since joining the staff of Louisiana Economic Development in 2004, Chris has played a pivotal and leading role in the tremendous growth of the film industry in the state. In addition to administering Louisiana's progressive and innovative tax credit program, he has been integral in providing technical assistance to entertainment companies looking to film and establish a nexus in Louisiana. As a graduate of Louisiana State University and a current Baton Rouge resident, Chris has always kept the state close at heart. He takes pride in representing the state on a global stage and promoting Louisiana as the place to be for the entertainment industry.

“The excitement and ever evolving nature of this business drives me to work even harder to ensure the success and longevity of the entertainment industry in Louisiana.
